In-House Accounting Services is located in Northern Westchester County, New York and services Westchester, Putnam and lower Dutchess counties. The sole owner is Gennelle MacNeil who has over sixteen years of extensive experience with daily operational accounting duties. In-House Accounting Services is dedicated to guiding the small business owner through the day to day accounting functions.

While attending Pace University, majoring in Accounting, Gennelle worked at a successful local pest control company. She worked for the company for five years, concentrating on customer service and accounts receivable. During her time with this company she gained valuable experience understanding the traits needed to build a strong and competitive company; build a solid and dependable relationship with the customer.

Next Ms. MacNeil moved on to a more structured corporate environment, and went to work for a leader in the soft drinks market, located in Somers, New York. Her responsibilities included ensuring timely payments and adherence to corporate policies regarding employees American Express Corporate Accounts and reimbursement accounts.  During her employment, she was an integral part of the T&E team and their transition from an M&D system to an in-house windows based application. Her teams constant attitude for "process improvement" lead them to be nominated for a prestigious Process Reengineering Award.

After two years in the Accounts Payable department, she was promoted to an Inventory Location Accountant. She was instrumental on the systems implementation from an in-house accounting system to record journal entries, to the Oracle General Ledger application.  In addition, to participating on the transition team, she trained the five other accountants in her business unit.

After five years in a very structured corporate environment and realizing she was only seeing a small piece of the accounting process, Gennelle decided to pursue another opportunity with a mid-size environmentally themed fund-raising company located in Valhalla, New York. She joined the company as a Senior Accountant, in July 2000. With her background of assisting with two systems implementation, she was a perfect fit to aid her new employer with their transition from multiple systems that did not integrate to an all in one accounting package; Microsoft Great Plains. Upon successful completion of assisting the I/T department with implementation, documenting all the new procedures of accounting operations and training others in the Finance Department, Gennelle was promoted to Finance Manager in May 2001. During her three years as Finance Manager, Gennelle was responsible for all facets of the daily accounting operations of a $16M plus company, preparing month-end financial statements and explaining variances to budget in a written report to the board members. In addition, to accounting functions, in May of 2002 the Human Resources functions were rolled under her department. The main accomplishments during her employment, were examining inefficiencies in inventory, account reconciliation's, ADP payroll, and 401k and implementing changes to maximize productivity in the Finance Department, reducing the need for unnecessary head count. The last year she was with the company, the company was realizing a growth spurt, branching their fund-raising line from one to four, changing their sales platform and starting to charge sales tax. Gennelle's system expertise combined with her detailed background of operational accounting, eased the burden of implementing all these changes and ensuring the financial integrity of the data.

In her desire to own her own company, Gennelle founded In-House Accounting Services in April of 2004, and since has completed a number of successful projects in addition to full charge bookkeeping. Some of the projects included; a temporary consulting position as C.F.O, setting up a manufacturer in QuickBooks with Assembled Inventory Items, implementing a third party application integration with QuickBooks, creating customized financial statements, setting up clients to use QuickBooks and train them according to their industry.

Gennelle is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor (2003-2005).
